Strictly Rumours

When is 'Strictly Come Dancing' back on our screens?

Well it’s usually the end of September of course, but we haven’t had an official start date released yet; nor do we know who is going to take part – though there are lots of rumours in the papers. Strictly Come Dancing will once again burst onto our screens in a frenzy of shimmies and sparkles, but what do we know so far?

There will be some changes this year though, particularly with Len Goodman leaving as Head Judge, and being replaced by Shirley Ballas – the Queen of Latin as opposed to the King of Ballroom. It’ll be interesting to see how that affects the show overall. So far as we know Tess and Claudia are continuing but it hasn’t been confirmed so who knows, could be more changes to come.Dianne Buswell, 28 from Australia, Nadiya Bychkova, 28 from Ukraine and Amy Dowden, 26 from Wales.

As for the celebrity dancers, well as far as we know Matt Goss signed up for the show awhile back, and there are rumours that Joan Collins could be in the running and even at 84 years of age, she can apparently still do the splits! She’d certainly appeal to older viewers and give the young ones a run for their quickstep. Other possibles include Alfie Boe, Angela Scanlon and Tim Peake, footballer Wayne Bridge and BBC TV 'Casualty' actor Jason Durr who plays nurse David Hide also Scarlett Moffatt from Gogglebox is tipped to take part – who would you like to see on the celebrity list?
