Nikita Kuzmin started dancing at the age of four.
Nikita and his family moved from Ukraine to Italy when he turned nine, to support his sister's dancing career, but it was also the start of his own career. Once his dance skills flourished, he became a six-time Italian Champion in Latin and Ballroom, and joined the German version of Strictly called Let's Dance as a professional dancer.
Nikita has been very open about being diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at 13 and is still continuing with his dancing career. However, he was worried on how it will impact his dancing career, then he discovered many other famous faces with the condition.
Appearing on Morning Live, he said: "When I found out, I thought, 'My career's over,' but this is one of my best memories in my life – I saw a wall of fame which was all of the famous, successful diabetics - Olympians, Paralympians, presidents, actors - everything. And many are still there so why not me?"
Nikita first joined the Strictly cast back in 2021 and has danced alongside Tilly Ramsay and Ellie Simmonds. He and Ellie were the sixth couple to leave the show in 2022 whereas, Tilly managed to reach the show just before the quarter finals.
